Flats2re:Source Bristol is an exciting new
urban ministry project.

It has three main components:

  • building the capacity of urban churches in Bristol to carry out creative ministry in their own communities
  • providing ministry experience and training in diverse inner-city areas and large urban estates
  • promoting partnerships between resource poor churches in urban areas and resource rich churches

Year of Training in Urban Mission

"I am so glad I joined the year scheme because I have learnt so much, given out to people I'd never have known otherwise, and loved in places I never thought I would."

Mary Clark, re:Source Volunteer 06-07

"I have learnt so much this year about myself, about theology, about how church works; how to make paper airplanes, about organising and planning, and most excitingly the many different ways God works."

Helen Sare, re:Source Volunteer 07-08

An important element of our vision is to provide a year of training and experience for Christians who are interested in living and working in urban areas or those who want to explore full or part time ministry in such areas.

The year will challenge your thinking and stretch your faith. It will take you outside your comfort zones as you live and work in an urban environment. It will develop skills and gifts which are invaluable to the success of urban churches. It will help you explore possibilities for future direction and involvement in church and city.
